Support & FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a camera?

No. You can read a saved image or screenshot. Image scanning does not request camera permission and works on a PC without a camera.

Why can the camera fail to start?

Camera scanning needs HTTPS and a browser supporting camera APIs. Permission denial, missing hardware or use by another app can prevent access. Image scanning remains available. Front/rear camera preference depends on browser support.

Are images, camera frames or results stored?

Images and camera frames are analysed only in the browser, without upload or operator storage. No scan history is recorded. Camera stops on success, stop, hidden tab or page exit. Downloaded text remains on your device.

What files are supported?

PNG, JPEG and WebP up to 20 MiB / 24 megapixels. PDF, HEIC, video and standard one-dimensional barcodes are not supported. One QR is located per attempt; crop to the one you want if an image contains several.

What if a QR code cannot be read?

Use a sharp, larger image showing the full code and its surrounding margin. Glare, distortion, damage and tiny codes can prevent decoding. Standard and inverted QR codes are attempted, without a guarantee that every code is readable.

Are links opened or Wi-Fi networks joined automatically?

No. Only decoded content is shown; it is not a safety guarantee. Only HTTP/HTTPS URLs without embedded credentials get a manual open link. Calls, texts, apps and Wi-Fi connections are not started automatically. Review the raw content first.
